Wessenberg Cafe in Konstanz

Friendly and attentive staff. Good menu but also good prices. All in all very recommendable, especially in summer it can be endured outside very well.

When people run out of money to leave with you, you will probably notice ... The party, the party, is always right ... Come on, comrades! Yesterday we faced the abyss, today we are one step further.

If I go out to eat in Konstanz, then only here! Super nice and fast service, relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seats. There is a large selection and always something nice for everyone. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Hopefully it will remain constant for a very long time.

Owners who care more about their employees' welfare than their income should be supported. The way some "I don't want to wear a mask" behave and share their videos on I-net is absolutely understandable and correct, thanks for that. Would like to come and eat with you, but Dortmund is a bit far away, should I ever be down there, I will definitely do it. We wish you continued success.

I find the decision of the restaurant to close on the demo weekend of the lateral thinkers absolutely understandable and correct. There are rules (mask requirement and distance) that many of these people were not willing to adhere to. The protection of employees and other guests cannot be observed if there is constant discussion. The operators have given a clear signal that the great reasonable majority of the population can eat safely and securely here. I still like to go there. The waitresses are nice and the coffee is great. Keep it up! Constance stands behind you!

As always, the service is great. Friendly, attentive and quick. In summer we like to sit in the cozy inner courtyard. Away from the busy city center. The food has always been very satisfactory so far. We always like to come back.

Great place to have a cozy lunch or evening. The staff is very courteous, the service can hardly be compared and the price-performance ratio is also good. We would love to come back.

As always, very tasty and beautifully presented. But what really deserves a rating here: Great restaurant with an attitude and backbone against mask refusers! Anyone who perceives the health threat to their fellow human beings as a discrimination against their opinion should not just look for another restaurant, but rather another city. You are not wanted here. Lateral- "think" somewhere else, please!

Find the attitude of the operator great. I would like to visit such a restaurant. It is very solidarity to not unnecessarily endanger your guests by admitting health-endangering fellow citizens. Great! 👍🏼

Despite the cloudy sky in the beer garden, we drank a milk café. There were two large cups for 9.80 €. You can't complain. The service was great. Gladly again

Ordered two salads, had to wait over 50 minutes. Asked twice where it went, but to no avail. Staff worked chaotically, tables were sometimes cleaned two or three times due to Corona, cause: no proper work organization. Staff who no longer knew which table had ordered pastries. Seen too much amateur fumbling. Too bad, the location is ok ....

Have been in Konstanz for 3 days and luckily found the cafe and then visited it every day !! Why ? Extremely friendly staff (a waiter, could also have been the manager; was so nice on our first visit and also got us a table in another restaurant for dinner !!) entertained us very well and provided us with information. We were on 9/12 Guest in the evening. Without a reservation and even though everything was full, a table was arranged for us in the courtyard. Very friendly reception despite a lot of work. The service in the form of a young man was super friendly and pleasant. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. Everything was really very good and pleasant. The flair in the small courtyard can be expanded, but that doesn't give the whole evening a negative aspect. We would like to express our thanks to the gentleman who received us, the young gentleman who looked after us very well and the lady who said goodbye to us. My boyfriend and I went to Wesenberg for breakfast this morning. It is usually our all time favorite restaurant for breakfast. Today it was just one catastrophe, which was unfortunately only due to the student waitresses, without words ..... We entered and waited until someone placed us because we hadn't made a reservation and you can't just go through the Corona anymore. We were greeted or not noticed at all, although we were noticed or seen. We stood for 3-4 minutes in the entrance area and didn't know what to do now. (We were there at 11 a.m. and the restaurant was completely empty except for 2 people in the front, only a couple of guests were already sitting in the next room and outside.) Well, when we finally sat down, we waited a good 15 minutes until someone came to hand us the card. Then we waited again for a good 10/15 minutes. It had been thirty minutes since we were seated. In the meantime, a couple came next to us to ask for space and were served immediately (but also here with waiting time) then we finally ordered and our breakfast came at 11.45 a.m. ... but without bread, without a plate and without the corresponding orange juice . At 5 min after 12 o'clock I went to the counter and said if we could have our bread so we could start to have breakfast .... The waitress noticed, however, that she had no desire to work today, and also with the male waitress you had the feeling that you had not trained them properly. At least it was more important to the young gentleman to disinfect his hands than to check that everything was going well or to understand that we had been missing our bread for 20 minutes and we hadn't started to eat breakfast! We sat across from the counter ... everyone could have taken it. Some of the guests who came to the restaurant were not welcomed even though you walked past them ... We then paid pretty quickly and left. We are really sorry for this bad rating because we always like breakfast (we actually only go to brunch, which unfortunately does not take place due to Corona). We also understand when the shop is full and there are long waiting times, but today the waitresses failed on full line, it should be mentioned again that when we came there was almost nothing going on. You should probably rethink your choice of employees or train them properly or not just use students who don't feel like working ... I myself come from the restaurant and can say without a guilty conscience that it was not stressful today and it was much more crowded it was when we came earlier for brunch and even then we were better served ...

My brother and his wife booked the Wessenberg as a small wedding location (approx. 30 people). In the inner courtyard they reserved an area for us that was separate from the normal clientele. That was very nice because it gave us our own private space. The request for a screen was initially denied because they did not have something like that in the house, but we were very pleasantly surprised that a screen was organized on the wedding day itself! We were very pleased! In addition, we as a family wanted to surprise the bridal couple and were able to decorate the location during the day, which also worked very well. But above all we would like to pass on kudos to the service, because they were really quick, very helpful, flexible and responded directly to our requests or suggested alternatives to us immediately! We lacked for nothing! Really great !! At this point: thank you very much for the smooth running of this special day!

Very great restaurant with a beautiful inner courtyard, which is decorated with awnings, LED lamps and various plants. The service was super friendly and the food really tasty! A little more expensive in terms of price, but it's definitely worth it!

The service was very friendly and took a lot of time to answer all of our questions. The food was excellent, especially the “Panzanella” bread I can only recommend. If you want to eat well and at a reasonable price in Constance, you can't miss it. When we get back to town we will definitely eat there.

Loved it

I went there last night for dinner and the Panzanella bread salad made me sick all night. It contained so much cloudy and whitish oil that the food was drowned in it. I will not be returning to this place.

Super friendly service, and tasty food. Good quality meat at a fair price. The fried liver with spaetzle is particularly tasty. PS: another guest mentioned that the "slightly red-haired waiter" had a lot of fun working. I can only agree. Will definitely be back.

Very nice service. Food delicious !!!! A beautiful garden inside with lots of greenery. Unfortunately it was raining so we ate but the interior, although modern, was also pleasant. I would recommend!

Worth it!

In case you want a beer on a Saturday and everywhere else is full, make a gift to yourselves and skip Wessenberg, because as soon as the place is starting to empty they will make you go. As if you'd drink the beer for free and haven't paid (and tipped for it). Not only that, but people working there, who think are in charge, namely Philip, the tiny waiter with glasses and a beard, may be really rude towards you and your fellas. Practically ruined our Saturday night with this unacceptable behaviour. If there were no stars, I'd give no stars.

Superschöne Location

This was okay. I was going to give it a bad review because the food started being very mediocre and our waiter made us wait a lot, aside from being rude. But I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because the dessert was OUTSTANDINGLY good. I devoured it. And the waitress who gave it to me was very nice. Wouldn't recommend this place for kids but definitely for adults.

Great place with free Wifi

Lively but relaxing at the same time, people of all age chose this place for a drink, a quick bite or a proper meal. I had the eponymous large breakfast: I appreciated it but I'm too Italian to get excited by smoked ham. I worked a while on my laptop with their great WiFi, then I've got lunch. Typical in German tradition, for what I can tell, are soups as entry; I loved the daily soup I had, onion based that day. Definitely recommended for hanging out in Constance.

Cosy café in a very central location. All-you-can eat brunch on weekends.

I came here with my family and friends last Saturday. The food was great wonderful portions and we didn't wait long to be seated. While our waitress was not friendly nor attentive and even forgot to fill one of our orders. The male waiter a nice young man who seated us made up for it. He was so friendly an attentive to our needs. The patio is gorgeous with a mezzanine with medieval art. I strongly recommend this place. Ask for the male server on weekends.
